About
Alex Hocking

Director, Curva Grande

When not at an airport travelling to a racetrack, you’ll likely find Alex either at an airport or a racetrack. Motorsport runs through his veins, but so does his passion for commercial aviation. He’ll either be watching the planes at Heathrow Airport on a day off or battling it out for victory at a kart track.

Alex is a highly enthusiastic communications, marketing and sponsorship specialist who has had phenomenal success over the years delivering world-class activations in Formula One. He enjoys working with creative brands and media from all over the world to help communicate a story.

Alex spent two years persuading Kimi Raikkonen to talk passionately about fuel and filmed features with Martin Brundle at Maranello. Working with Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton was also a pleasure.

Being briefed by Ferrari not to mention a new fuel upgrade in the F1 car at Monza, followed unexpectedly by Ted Kravitz persistently asking Alex if there is a new fuel in the car – on live TV – could also be considered a highlight!

Alex grew up in Frimley, Surrey, with his parents and two sisters. His interest in motorsport was sparked by watching his racing hero Damon Hill battling with Michael Schumacher in the 90s, while Murray Walker’s immense enthusiasm bellowed out of the television screen.

He is inspired by the genius of Michael Jackson, a phenomenal entertainer who had an unchallenged creative ability. Alex keeps fit by running and playing tennis…more so if he wins!
